Money Habit Plan– 2/5/2020

I have a problem…I spend way to much time online shopping and then either buy none of the things in my cart or waste money by buying all of them. It is a problem. On my phone I have a whole box dedicated to shopping websites. To fix my problem of spending money on stuff I do not really need I have decided to start by finding my cue. My cue for online shopping is normally before bed or sometimes during class. After I found my cue, I needed to find my routine. It is has listed below:

1.) Finish my homework

2.) Get into bed

3.) Watch Netflix

4.) While watching a show open app on phone

or…

1.) Get home

2.) Get food

3.) Eat food and open clothing apps on phone

My goal is to track the amount of times per day I go onto clothing websites and what causes me to go on them. Stayed tuned to read my discoveries.

2/11/2020

I am back…I has been a week and I am ready to share my findings. In this past week, I have noticed that I go onto shopping apps once a day. I do this not because I actually need these products but because I am bored and want something to do. For the future, I am going to find more productive things to do with my time then online shop. It is important to break this habit because if it continues to get worse I will never learn how to save money for my future.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

2/7/2020

QUESTION OF THE DAY- 2/11/2020

  1. Leaving high school my top money worry would be having money to buy things in college and not being ‘broke.’
  2. I think my parents would answer this question by giving me an allowance for college and telling me to get a job.
  3. Something that people can do to reduce their worries is saving money.
  4. I think these answers would change during a recession because people would not have to use their savings and not be able to build up money for the future.

QUESTION OF THE DAY- 2.18.2020

  1. I am surprised by the top three categories the Federal government spends taxpayer money on because health is what most of the money goes to but, people still have additional health fees.

4. In ten years I think the government will spend more tax dollars on Science, Food & Agriculture and, Energy & Environment. Since global warming is a ongoing issue the government is going to need to begin putting more time and money into things that will help the Earth.

1.) The person that has had the most positive influence on my money habits are my parents because they have taught me how to responsible with my money and save it.

2.) Some examples of social media leading to bad money habits are the adds on your page that are targeted to you and what you like.

3.) A situation where a friend may have a negative influence on how I manage my money is when we go out shopping and I over buy because I can not decide to what to get and they say get it all.

QUESTION OF THE DAY- 3.4.2020

  1. Even though I have had job in the past, I never needed to file a tax return. However, when I do need to file one the thing I will be most worried about is making sure I do not miss or leave anything out.

Question of the Day 4.9.2020

  1. If I were buying an expensive item and I was given the option to take out a loan or save up for it, I would quickly choose to save for it. I would do so because if I cannot pay for it immediately, it not worth going through the stress of a loan and paying back with interest.
